I've decided to start this blog as a way to help promote bands i'm currently enjoying. Everything that is posted here will be stuff that i physically own and any download links that are posted are intended to be used for people to gain a good idea of the music, album etc. If you like what you hear delete the files and buy the album, because if artisits don't get paid for the work they can't make more music etc etc etc. (you know what i'm getting at).

Mare Cognitum - The Sea Which Has Become Known
Genre: Black Metal
Origin: United States
Born in the concrete jungle of Santa Ana, Mare Cognitum is a black metal band consisting of one member, Jacob Buczarski. This project began as an attempt to carve out it’s own territory in the wider scope of black metal - a movement often viewed as a clouded sea of imitation and duplicity. This previous statement is the only shred of available information i have managed to find on this project and release. Seemingly shrouded in mystery and clearly reluctant to reach a wider audience, this is actually quite a shame as this five track mini album from mare cognitum is well worth your time. Playing a style of atmospheric black metal with a heavy use of keyboards mare cognitum don't produce anything mind blowingly original and seemingly wear their influences proudly on their sleeve, with Emperor and Wolves In The Throne Room springing to mind on more than one occasion. However i strongly suggest anyone who is a fan of the aforementioned bands and black metal in general to check this out. as far as i'm aware there has been no physical release and the album has only been released digitally through bandcamp.
